Wow – what a fantastic time we had in San Diego from April
8-10, 2011. More than 1,300 dancers
escaped from the wild for a
weekend of square dancing, round dancing, education, exhibitions,
shopping, and much more. We would like to express our thanks to
everyone who made the 51st California State Square Dance
Convention such a "rip roaring" success. Thanks first to all the
critters (dancers) who joined us for a day or for the weekend – it
was our pleasure to be your hosts. Special thanks, too, for our
calling and cueing staff who kept you hopping and gliding across
the hardwood floors; our committee members who worked hard to
organize, publicize, and coordinate all of the dancing and
activities; and the San Diego community that welcomed you to
beautiful, (mostly) sunny Balboa Park. We had such fun with our
Escape from the Wild theme, and
hope you did too!
Be sure to check out the Pictures & Videos
to see photos and videos from the convention. They show wonderful
views of our favorite pastime! Share these with friends and
acquaintances, and maybe they will want to join in the fun in the
future!
Thank you again for supporting this year's convention. We hope
to see you next year as we Follow the Blossom Trail
to the
52nd California State Square Dance Convention,
April 20-22, 2012 in Visalia.
